Elio Balan is the editor-in-chief of The Seeker Magazine, a collaborative effort by the BAE class of 2023. He is also the layout artist and web design maker of this site. With the help of Pocholo Tendido, the graphic designer,  Nixie Serna, the illustrator, and the rest of the class, The Seeker Magazine is able to uphold its vision: to realize a truthful yet accessible journalism.

Editor's Note

It seems's inevitable—the end of our university days. The BAE class of 2019 have made numerable and significant outputs that have been showcased to the public, sometimes even going as far as the national scene. It isn't easy, to put your heart, bear your soul, and pour them onto the paper. The digital magazine and the Writing for Professions subject feel like the end. The conclusion. A reminder to us. That outside the university walls, there's a reality waiting for us. This is what the school has been training us our whole life, and now we are taught how to write for companies, corporations, and institutions. It makes me wonder. 5 years from now, or even 10 years, who will become a lawyer? A teacher? An editor? Who would go on in a completely different path than what they've initially taken? It's hard to guess but it's a nice thought to ponder every once in a while.

Thank you to whoever is reading this note. These are all the culmination of the hard work the students have invested in our class.  You may be curious as to why I'm alluding that this would be the last and only issue of this digital magazine. Well, I don't want to be ahead of myself but if our gang is still up to the challenge of releasing another one, why not, right? After all this magazine is named The Seeker because all of us students seek something: the meaning of life, money, a lover, a good restaurant to dine in France after they've celebrated their success... another chance. We are humans. You are a human. And the people we're covering, they're humans too. We take every article seriously because we have to fulfil something and that something is what we constantly seek.

So if you're waiting for the next issue (if we ever have one), trust me, we are going to make it worth the wait.
