Volt In: The Return of Voltes V in Philippine Television

The long wait is over for Voltes V Filipino fans as the live adaptation of the acclaimed Japanese anime series Chōdenji Machine Voltes V (Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V) is set to conquer the Philippine television.

 

After multiple delays and setbacks, returning to Philippine television after 13 years with authentic Filipino talent and artistry, the Filipino live-action television adaptation of Voltes V: Legacy is finally airing on GMA Network in the second quarter of 2023 with its 80 action-filled and high-quality episodes under the production of Telesuccess Production. The network claims that the adaptation of the series is the potential bearer of being the "Philippines' first serious epic-sci-fi TV show" with its impressive CGI effects and graphic video elements that contributed to the high-quality production.

 

The English-dubbed anime series had its first broadcast during Martial Law in May of 1978 on GMA Network. The anime series got banned in August 1979 after the late dictator President Ferdinand Marcos claimed its harmful effects on children. After his removal from the office in 1986, the anime series had a rerun from the 1980s to 2010.

 

Following the story of the three brothers Steve Armstrong played by Miguel Tanfelix, Matt Lozano as Robert "Big Bert" Armstrong, Raphael Landicho as Little Jon Armstrong, and their friend Jamie Robinson played by Ysabel Ortega. Let us witness how these four young adults combine to transform into the final form of Voltes V and how they will defend their land from the imperial planet Boazan with the militaries and Earth Defense Force of Terra Erthu (planet Earth).
