Filipino-American rising pop star Bella Poarch recalls her childhood in the Philippines in an H3 Podcast, in which the host, Ethan Klein, says that it feels "...like Cinderella."

Klein added, "Dude, it's crazy, the parallels to Cinderella. They had the older siblings, who get all the good treatment, and then you have the younger sibling who sits in the basement and has to clean get all the sh*tty clothes... And then, you leave the f*cking coop, you get the glass slippers and all the sh*t."

Ethan made the comment after Bella Poarch tells the hosts about her childhood in Philippine slums. She talked about her experiences of abuse from her American stepdad, bullying in her school, apathetic neighbors, and the beauty standards in the Philippines.

The podcast was uploaded on Youtube on Jun 18, 2021, by Ethan and Hila Klein's channel H3 podcast

Ethan asks her why her step-dad treated her poorly, commenting that her step-dad sounds like "a deeply disturbed person". Poarch answered, "He recently said that he was diagnosed with PTSD because he was in the army for like 20 years." Poarch added, "I have PTSD but I don't go around and hurt people."

Poarch told her experiences after she moved to California which she found better than her experience in the Philippines. Poarch said her stepdad had bypass surgery and her aunt took care of her and her brother. When Ethan asks Poarch about the adults asking her about her well-being, she recalled her life in Texas where she is approached by her neighbors if she is okay. "I was very emotional about it because someone actually cared here," she added.

But the star recalls that she still isn't allowed to go out with her friends while living in the US. Poarch also tells of her experience in a US Navy boot camp. Bella Poarch’s enthused retelling of her experience as an aviation ordinanceman made Ethan comment an irony in her life. "Speaks to how f*cked up things were for you," the host added, given the reputation of boot camps in the United States.

Bella Poarch rose to fame in Tiktok when she uploaded a lip-sync video of her singing to "M To The B (Soph Aspin Send)" by Millie B. Her musical career skyrocketed when she released her debut single "Build a Bitch" on May 14, 2021, which became the most-viewed debut song in Youtube history, according to Ethan Klein.

Poarch released her first EP, Dolls on August 12, 2022, which included her debut song and the titular single "Dolls", which was featured in the second trailer of the 2022 science-fiction horror film "M3GAN".
